This was our last day in Alaska. We were sooooo sad :(( but ready to go home!!
We woke up and some people got breakfast while others packed. The hotel we were staying at had a luggage scale where everyone weighed their checked bags to make sure it was under 50 lbs. We then got on the bus at 10:15 a.m. to start our journey home to NJ. The drive to the airport was only around 20 minutes long.
After the short drive our bus driver Craig gave us a goodbye speech! We will always remember Craig and our tour guide Wade.
Once we got to the airport we checked our bags in with no trouble and waited for our flight. After waiting around an hour and a half we boarded our first flight, which was 3.5 hours from Anchorage to Seattle. After landing around 7:30 and getting off the plane we had a 4-hour layover until 10:30. During the layover people walked around to eat if they hadn’t already bought any essentials or last-minute items.
After this long wait we boarded our last plane of of the trip, which was to the JFK Airport!! Once getting off the plane at 7:30 a.m., we gathered all our luggage and walked over to our bus, which took us back to MFS!! Our bus ride was about an hour and a half to Hartman Hall. Once we arrived we got off the bus and grabbed all of our luggage. Everyone was excited to be home after the long trip, and shortly after arriving at MFS everyone went home!
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed this Intensive Learning trip!! There were so many exciting and informative activities, experiences, and places we got to go to! Some of our favorites were the Northern Lights, curling, dog sledding, the ice park, and the animal conservation center, although we truly loved the whole trip. This trip was definitely a blast, and we are incredibly grateful to have gotten the opportunity to experience it.
