To wrap up our week, the Architecture in Philadelphia group visited the TAO architecture firm in Moorestown. We learned about different fields related to architecture and what kind of educational experiences an architect might need. We saw what the design process was like, from scribble sketch, to computer aided rendering, to 3-D model, to finished product. Then we spit up into groups and came up with our own ideas for spaces at MFS. One group came up with an idea of making the old Acme cupola into a slide for the lower school students. Another group came up with a plan to modify the entryway into the upper school. The third group envisioned a new plan for the field house commons, emphasizing a gateway to sports with artwork and a monitor to display sports schedules.
All in all, we had a great week walking all over Philadelphia.
