Today we went to the Philadelphia Art Museum where we looked at social change through different forms of art. Our teachers created an impeccable scavenger hunt that allowed us to look at some of the most important pieces regarding social change. We looked at art from various time periods and places around the world. On the scavenger hunt list, we had the opportunity to look deeper into the meanings of pieces or specific sections of the museum. Some of our favorite parts of the museum were the Impressionism Gallery and the Modern & Contemporary Art. The modern art included special exhibits such as “Waiting for Tear Gas” and “Pictures in Pictures.” Overall, we expanded our knowledge about the connections between visual art and social change.
