Today, the students in Arts & Entertainment took a trip to the Wells Fargo Center. Upon arrival, we were greeted by three staff members who gave us a behind-the-scenes tour of the venue. We learned some history about the Flyers, the 76ers, and the Wells Fargo Center as a whole. The full tour included stops at the Club Level, a variety of suites, the Gene Hart Press Box, media booths, the locker room hallways, and the loading area right at ice level. The students even got to go right up to the ice! It was interesting to learn all about the process they go through to change over the entire venue between basketball games, hockey games, concerts, and other sporting events. We got to see them changing over everything for a Flyers game after hosting the NCAA Men’s Wrestling Championship. There were a ton of people there working on so many different things!
After we returned back to campus, we had our lunch break. After lunch, we spent some time working in small groups on recording projects that we will be taking to a recording studio on Thursday. Finally, we spent some time working on a variety of service projects in the auditorium. Students will continue to work on recording and service projects throughout the week. Overall, it was a great second day of IL!
