Today we got to sleep in a little. Later, we stopped at two sinkholes known as the Twins formed by collapsed lava rock. Everybody got great pictures. Then we got on the bus and headed to the airport. Our flights were short from the Galápagos to Guayaquil then from Guayaquil to Quito. After baggage claim, we said goodbye to Margaux and embarked on our scenic bus ride to our cozy hacienda. It is beautiful, and we hope it will still be as beautiful when we wake up at 4:00 AM to catch our flight to Panamá! The meal was a traditional Ecuadorian dinner. It was chicken, a pickled fruit salad, spinach rice, and potatoes. Those observing Good Friday were served tuna. The dessert was a fruit that is only found in Ecuador.
Having had issues on the front end of the trip with the weather delay, the rest of the trip was well worth the wait. Ecuador and the Galápagos was fantastic. See you in the States.
