Baking, Day Three: Muffins and Scones!

This morning, we started the day by finding recipes for our cookie competition to be judged by the kindergarteners tomorrow. Around mid-morning, we made our way to the Pie Lady Cafe on Main Street. We had the great opportunity to watch the staff make batter for scones and even had the opportunity to shape some out ourselves. We were delightfully treated to scones prepared ahead of our arrival. Some of the flavors included cherry vanilla, almond, and blueberry lemon, their top seller. We also were given mini funfetti (rainbow sprinkled) scones to take home, although most of them didn’t even make it out of the restaurant!

After our return to campus, we worked on our final planning for our Showstoppers on Thursday, then took a break for lunch. After lunch, we continued our baking adventures by making muffins. Several groups chose to add chocolate chips and blueberries for extra flavor! We ended the day by enjoying our sweet treats, both from Pie Lady and our homemade muffins.
