Although the Foxes did not have a game scheduled for today, the team was busy all day with activities ranging from service to go-karts to baseball. The day started relatively late, as the team gathered at 9:30 A.M. for our final day of service of the Lowcountry County Food Bank a few minutes away from our base at Myrtlewood Villas. The team was at the food bank for about one and a half hours performing tasks such as sorting recently donated food and packaging the assorted food to be shipped out of the facility. Once the hour and a half came to an end, the bus departed for Chick-fil-A where the team ate lunch for the second time on the trip.
At around 12:15 the Foxes left for the final practice of the trip, which consisted of hitting in the cages, working on pickoff plays, and fielding ground balls. While all of these tasks were completed within the Ripken facility, we did not have a scheduled time to be on one of the fields, so the practice only lasted for an hour and a half. After the trip’s final practice ended, the Foxes traveled to the Grand Prix for an afternoon of go-karts and mini golf. Once the racing and golf matches finished, the Foxes briefly returned to Myrtlewood Villas before heading out to Broadway on the Beach for dinner and games. Although the final day was not as focused on baseball, it was a great way to cap off a trip centered around baseball, service, and team bonding.
