Today, the Careers in Music Intensive Learning group went on a walk down Philly music history in the form of a 3-hour long fun-filled bus tour. The tour featured an amazing, groovy tour guide that knew everything about Philly’s rich music history. The bus driver/tour guide drove around the entire city to show monumental music locations in Philly. Along the way the bus would show videos on the screen to accompany the speaker. The music and scenery combined made for an amazing and educational experience. We stopped at Merriam Theater, Philadelphia Museum of Art, and Uptown Theater to take some pictures. We also explored Philadelphia’s rich history of jazz, songwriting, pop and musicians with Clayton, the tour guide. The extensive tour not only provided insight into the meaningful history of some locations all around Philadelphia, but also gave out fun facts about songwriters, producers, and artists alike that lived in Philly.
