Day Two, Granada

We finally got our luggage at 12 pm today, which was such a relief! Today was our first day of service where we made bread, worked on a mural, and worked on a garden. It was so amazing to get a feel for the authentic Spanish culture, and to get to know the members of the community.

After a few hours of service we had a snack break and lunch, which included our homemade bread. After lunch we embarked on a journey to Granada. Our tour guide Nick gave us a very entertaining and educational view of the beautiful architecture and nature of Granada.

After our tour, we had some free time to walk around the city and explore on our own. Some of us went to a delicious bakery while others purchased souvenirs such as jewelry and spices. It was very interesting to put our language skills to the test with locals who did not speak English.

Finally, we went to a flamenco show, where we ate delicious Paella. Paella is a Spanish dish that incorporates rice, sea food, and chicken. The flamenco was incredibly entertaining and was a unique experience! We are looking forward to continuing our service and exploring the Alhambra.
