Today we visited Harmony Village where we gave our quilts. We were able to meet people in different stages of Alzheimer’s. Although we had heard about it all week, it was interesting to see it in person and get the experience. A woman who worked there, Lauren, took us to different rooms each with a set of people in a different stage of Alzheimer’s. Some people where further along in the disease and it showed through their behaviors, while some of them were walking around and more interactive. We were also able to create something for ourselves today. Some of us created pillow cases, zipper pouches, pillows, and a personal quilt. All in all it was a fun and educational week; we became good friends and our increased our awareness of Alzheimer’s.
