Today we woke up early in the morning and experienced breakfast in the town of Lyon. After we all had our delicious breakfast we proceeded with our day by walking to our service project site, a bicycle school called Maison du Vélo. We all split up into groups and got to do different service projects including painting pots, helping to cook lunch, and painting walls. We were also lucky enough to go on a walk throughout Lyon with our guide Flo. We learned about bikers and the differences between them and the bikers back at home. We all contributed to making a very delicious lunch that included salad, a variety of cheeses, fruit salad, bread, pasta, and ham.
For the second part of our day, we finished as much as we could to help our friends at the bike school. All of the preparation led to action as we put all of our sweat and tears into customizing beautiful plates, flowerpots, and customizing a bike. We also completed painting the walls and adhering decal stickers to the shop windows, which really added character to the store as a whole. They were very grateful that we were there to share time with them and help create beautiful pieces for their office.
Afterwards, we treated ourselves to some well-deserved shopping in Lyon. Most of us bought lovely gifts for our families and we all met up on the front steps of a huge church in the middle of the town for dinner.
Following shopping we all went out to dinner and ate either chicken or ribs with delicious potato soup as an appetizer. After dinner we took a walk on a beautiful bridge over the river and everyone got either ice cream or crepes. After, some people went to the top of Lyon for a lovely view of the city for our last night in it!
