On Friday, fifth graders enjoyed a scavenger hunt first thing this morning around campus. We got to visit different people around campus and learn more about the community we are a part of. We then spent time with Toni Farmer and learned a lot more about composting and the importance of fruits and vegetables. We were able to find seeds in many different fruits and vegetables, and we added to our compost jars and our worm farm.
We spent some time in advisories working on our lessons to share with the Lower School students on Monday. We are so excited to share what we have learned about composting and worm farms with our friends in the Lower School.
We ended our day on Friday with a beautiful walk up to Brain Freeze to enjoy some ice cream treats together.
Here are some of the comments overheard on Friday:
“I love Intensive Learning!”
“The scavenger hunt was so fun because we all worked together to find the clues!”
“It’s so fun to find seeds in foods!”
“I can’t wait to do this with the Lower School students!”
