After our long layover, we finally got on our last flight, landing in Tromsø. We were able to quickly get off the plane to retrieve our bags, then hopped on a short bus ride to our hotel.
Everyone was extremely jet-lagged, so we all went to our rooms and crashed.
We woke up after our much-needed rest around 8:15 and were able to have a lovely breakfast in our hotel before all coming together as a group to meet our tour guide at around 9:30 a.m. Our tour guide gave us a nice introduction for what to expect in the upcoming week.
After we introduced ourselves and got to know each other more, our guide took us on a small tour around town to show us the best places to shop, eat, and explore.
After we returned to the hotel, we discussed the rules for our free time. We split off into our own groups to explore Tromsø further. One store some of us visited centered around Sami culture and contained native artisan crafts such as hand-knitted hats and sweaters. There was also a moving crepe cart with homemade Nutella that made French style crepes on the spot!
