It was great to finally get a chance to see our group together. Fun facts: 50% of us chose blue as our favorite color, and the most popular favorite food was ice cream (5 out of 16 votes). After introductions, we watched a slide show to learn a bit more about the Bayshore Center at Bivalve and her flagship vessel the AJ Meerwald.
Next, we discussed the daily schedule and the supplies students should bring with them on Monday morning — CLOTHES, $8-$10 for lunch, and any medications students might need (including sunscreen!!). Lest students not believe us adults when we say they should be prepared for bad weather, I interviewed a few upperclassmen who attended this trip as freshman. Their interviews are included below, in case anyone needs a reminder. Finally, we closed by writing down things we are looking forward to next week: time to hang out with friends during our daily bus rides, getting to know each other better, and seeing how great the ship looks at the end of our time at Bayshore were all common themes.
