Guten tag! Today was yet another extraordinarily interesting day! We started out with an early breakfast and a walking tour of Dresden in the freezing cold. Our tour guide was named Doris, and she sure had some funny jokes to lighten the mood! Luckily the tour was very interesting, and it ended up snowing! Seeing the churches and castles in the snow truly made for a special and one-of-a-kind experience. Eventually though, we had to leave the gorgeous city and hop on a bus for Nuremberg.
As we left for Nuremberg, the group stopped at a ALDI and got some snacks for the bus. Groupmates made sandwiches, ate fruit, and had some great candy. We were halfway to Nuremberg when we got stuck in traffic for 45 minutes on the German Autobahn. We turned on the speaker and played music and games to pass the time. When the traffic cleared, we got to see the beautiful hills and plains of Germany.
The Nuremberg Trials Memorial was a very educational experience. It was interesting to see the courtroom where many infamous Nazis were tried and sentenced. The audio tour was also educational, and we were especially interested in, among other things, listening to the different leaders of the allied countries testify against the Nazi leadership.
We drove to a restaurant on a beautiful lake, had their famous little Nuremberg sausages, and then drove to our hotel in Bamberg.
