Hamburg, By Bike

After breakfast in Bremen, we departed on the 1.5 hour bus ride to Hamburg, the second largest city in Germany. It has the most bridges in the world!

Upon our arrival, the group embarked on a bike tour of the central attractions of the city. Some highlights include a tunnel connecting the banks of the Elba River, the old and new town halls in the city, and a Catholic Church with a tragic history; it was destroyed by a city-wide fire and bombed during World War II.

Following the bike tour, we grabbed lunch at a train station and proceeded to the largest model train set in the world. Miniature Wunderland included displays of multiple countries around the world, a display of Hamburg, and lighting and sound to mimic different areas during night and day. Finally, we concluded the day with Schnitzel and Kaiser Schmarm, which tasted like waffles and vanilla pudding.
