Today on Friday, March 24th, 2023, students shared with each other what their relationship was to music — some starting from a young age and others recently beginning more recently on their musical journeys. After a brief breakfast comprised of doughnuts, students began to write some poetry. It required them to write at least five lines. All of the lines had to be the same amount of syllables and the last word of each had to rhyme. After sharing these pieces, they analyzed the structure of certain songs, outlining which parts were the chorus and verses. After returning from lunch, the students chose ten songs that they liked and asked themselves what they really liked about them. This would give them a hint as to what artists are truly looking to do when they create a piece to sell to the public.
