Islamic Art at the Philadelphia Art Museum and the Rocky Run

Today we hit the road and ventured to the Philadelphia Art Museum, and climbed the Rocky stairs. During our stay at the museum we learned about different forms and features of Islamic art. We learned about how they were sometimes forbidden from depicting the images of humans on their artwork, so they instead included many abstract and geometric shapes, as well as animals and writing in Arabic. Islamic art is not where we stopped, though. We also explored through Northern European Christian paintings and other Indo-Persian pieces of art like rugs and tapestries. Once it was time to leave, we walked a few blocks to a newly-opened Whole Foods where we chowed down on whatever our stomachs desired and we were treated to Federal Doughnuts before our ride home.
