Let’s Sew for Babies, Day 1: Starter Stitch

In this Intensive Learning, a group of Freshmen, a Sophomore, and a Senior, all came together for the week as one. This group of unfamiliar faces will make new friendships, bonds, and express their inner creativity in a positive way to help very small children in need. The group is creating clothes for newborn babies, and the clothing that is made by this group will go to the Philadelphia Nurse-Family Partnership, to help mothers in need of supplies for raising their child (or children) in the first 1 to 2 critical years of their lives as a family. This organization also provides support, whether it be physical, mental, or emotional. On the first day alone, which was supposed to be a practice day, we made 19 articles of clothing, 1 pillow, and 1 small plush toy for the babies!
