We started off our day by gathering in the Greenleaf building and sewed until our departure for Philly at 9:00. We headed to the Nurse Family Partnership headquarters to learn about why we are sewing for babies. First, we took a tour of the office. Then, we learned about the every day schedules of nurses, how the nurses help their many families, and what it means to have a heart’s desire. We had discussions with the nurses and sampled a mother-nurse activity by making a coconut sugar scrub, because after all, nurses and mothers need to take care of themselves, too!
At around 12:00, we got back on the bus and started our trip back to MFS. Along the way, we stopped at WAWA for a delicious lunch. After eating lunch, we played an intense game of bocce. We sewed for the remainder of our day.
