Today we visited the Heart of Camden and organized the warehouse. After that we cleaned the basketball court by raking and cleaning leaves. Then we took a lunch break while Phil taught us about what they do. The Heart of Camden works around the community to clean up and build houses. He told us, “The only direction we can go is up.” After lunch we filed papers and returned to cleaning up the streets. When we finished cleaning, Phil took us on a tour and showed us the refurbished houses and firehouse that will become an art center. This day ended with our group decorating cards for citizens.
