Today was an early start as we were switching hotels, so, after eating breakfast, we hopped on the bus and headed to an elementary school called Amboise Palix. At the school, we played games like BINGO and sang songs (Cupid Shuffle, Cotton Eye Joe, Cha Cha Slide) to help the children learn some English. The kids knew an impressive amount of English already! We spent the kids’ recess with them and hung out outside. They really liked to play with our hair and gave us lots of hugs. We took a quick intermission to have lunch at a very good buffet-style restaurant. After lunch, we went back to the school to teach one more class and for final goodbyes. They showed us a dance they made and gave us gifts. After saying goodbye at the school, we started our long bus ride to our new hotel, Residence Oceane. After settling in at our hotel and going for a quick swim at the beach, we got a taste of home as we ate burgers and fries at a restaurant near our hotel. Finally, we went back to the hotel to rest up for our hike tomorrow.
