We all woke up at 8:30 for a divine meal cooked by our friends at the church. We left soon after and arrived at a new church in Gibara where we would stay for the next two nights. We were greeted with a delicious lunch and amazing new dorms and hot water. We then went on a beautiful hike to an underground cave where we saw some of the true glory Cuba has to offer. Amongst the cave spiders and bats, we experienced total darkness and learned about the geology of the region.
We returned to the church and, after a wonderful dinner, we walked along the malecon. We heard of Cuban war heroes as the waves crashed on the rocks of the Cuban shore. Our work will resume tomorrow; we will be painting at the church nearby.
