Our Arrival to the Galápagos Islands!

Today we woke up and anticipated our arrival to the Galápagos Islands! We had a really good breakfast at the hotel we spent the night in and then got on the bus to the airport. Once we got to the airport we learned all about the different procedures that had to be taken before entering the Galápagos. After doing so, we got on the plane and headed to the island. That flight was short and fairly painless.

Once we got there, we took a boat ride to the island where our hotel was and we headed there for lunch. We were given a buffet with beef, fish, rice, and broccoli. It was delicious! After lunch we went to the Charles Darwin Station where we saw different types of iguanas and the tortoise ranch, one of the main attractions of the island. We saw, and learned about both species. Most of all, we had a refreshingly great time walking in the outdoors, after traveling for so many days. Our last stop before dinner was the beach! Some of us swam, others admired, but nonetheless we all enjoyed the clear blue water and sand in our toes for the first time in a while. As our night comes to an end, our final activity is to go and explore the town, before we head to bed.

Overall, a very fun day and we can’t wait for tomorrow to spend the whole day on this warm and wonderful island!
