We woke up for our last full day of the Iceland Intensive Learning trip in the capital, Reykjavík. After waking up and eating breakfast at the Fosshotel, we headed out for horseback riding at noon. When we arrived at the Íshestar Horse Riding Center, we watched an instructional video that taught us the correct horseback riding methods with some rules and warnings. We then suited up in the proper gear and we were each given our horses. The guides helped us get onto our saddles and led us out onto the 3-4 kilometer-long trail. Despite slight rain and strong wind, riding the horses was extremely fun. After a couple hours of riding, some pictures, and scenic views, we returned the horses to their stables. We then departed Íshestar for Reykjavik where we spent the rest of the day shopping and exploring.
We went to a lot of souvenir shops and went to a thrift store to get some really comfy sweaters. After that we went to get Icelandic street food, and the fish and chips were great. After that we went back to the Sun Voyager sculpture (remember? From our first day?) one more time before hanging out back in the hotel and reflecting on our experiences.
