After three days on the road, we spent today applying what we’ve learned about museums. Curators need to know a lot about the subject of their exhibits, so we chose one we know well: ourselves. Each of us chose several artifacts that tell our personal stories. Working in our travel pods, we sorted through the artifacts, and then each pod created an exhibit. That means they had to study the artifacts, decide on a thesis, write labels, and then walk the rest of the class through it.
Once we finished with the artifact exhibits, we tackled dioramas, exhibits that show people using the artifacts. Here are some of the ones we created:
The one we figure will be in a museum someday soon is called “Hold on, I’m on the phone.”
After all this curating, we did the most important things. We made t-shirts.
And then we all went out to lunch together at Akira.
Tomorrow, we’re off the Longwood Gardens, yet another kind of museum. We’re finally supposed to get some lovely spring weather. We’re ready!
