Today we started off the day by enjoying the donuts that Cameron had brought while finalizing our video prototypes to present to the Pinelands Preservation Association.
In the foggy mist, we boarded the bus to get to the Pinelands. We presented our ideas to Mr. Howell, who provided valuable feedback essential to the Design thinking process.

As the fog cleared up, we took a hike to a site where off-roading vehicles have severely damaged the wetlands.
“The damage is unreal,” said Liam.

We tread carefully around the water, pollution, and litter.
“It reminded me of survival,” said Mariana.
After hopping over a few tires, we finally stopped in front of a barricade to get ideas and measurements for a 3-D prototype. The barricade consisted of chopped-down pine trees that were quite effective in stopping ATVs in their tracks.
“I took the measurements,” said Safia.
After that, we said goodbye to Jason and went off to have lunch at Massimo’s Pizzeria in Vincentown.
“That was really good pizza.” — Evan
“A full pizza is more efficient than a single slice.” — Liam
Then, we made a brief stop to interview a local ATV dealer. We gained a new perspective on the off-roading community.
In preparation for tomorrow’s day of iteration and prototyping, we reflected on Mr. Howell’s feedback. We made great progress in deciding what action steps to take.
We ended the day with a leisurely game of Mario Smash Brothers as the sun streamed through the windows.
