Silver Staining

Today, we worked with our instructor Ken and learned about silver staining, which is a technique from the Middle Ages in which silver is put on glass to create shades of yellow. We used this technique on our own pieces that we had started on Friday, adding a pop of color to our art, which will be apparent in our final products. We also learned about the process of making glass and several techniques, including floating the glass on liquid tin. We had another fun and amazing day at Wheaton Village, and we can’t wait to finish our work tomorrow!
