Sixth Grade IL: Our Last Day at PBC

We wrapped up our time at Princeton-Blairstown Center with one more morning of activities. Although it was brisk outside, it was wonderfully sunny. Students enjoyed a delicious breakfast before heading out to some different spots for final games, studies, and activities.

Several groups of students engaged in shelter building by collecting materials from the forest around them and trying to make a structure that was aesthetically pleasing, insulated, and could withstand the weather. Mostly, it was a great chance to put those team building skills into practice since everyone needed to decide on an idea and then execute the plan.

Some students dissected owl pellets to discover just what the native owls eat. An interesting look into the ecosystem by seeing how a food chain works! At the end of the morning, each group did some reflecting by speaking out loud about their experiences at PBC. It was wonderful to hear which activities the students enjoyed most.

After a quick lunch, the students loaded onto the bus and headed home! Although we’ll miss the camaraderie and beautiful scenery of PBC, the round of applause for MFS as we arrived showed us the kids were appreciative to be back in Moorestown.
