Today South Jersey Service traveled to the Ronald McDonald House in Camden, NJ. We kicked off the day with a trip to Acme. There, we were able to pick up all of the ingredients for lunch for the House residents. We also had fun picking out some snacks and stuffed animals for us to enjoy on the bus. Once we arrived at the Ronald McDonald House, we toured the house and then split into two groups: one group organizing a storage room of toys and the other cooking lunch for the residents. We prepared grilled cheese, salad, fruit, brownies, and mac n cheese. It was great to see the families enjoying the food we made, and it was super rewarding to help organize the house. Overall it was a great day of service at the Ronald McDonald House of South Jersey. The Ronald McDonald House of South Jersey is a home where children who are sick can stay to receive the help and treatment they need. Donating here allows the families to be able to live there for free. Preparing food for these families lets them know that students outside of their community are willing to help and support them. We were happy to be able to support this incredible home.
