South Jersey Service, Day Three: Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge

Today was a day spent in nature and giving back. We started at Cedar Run Wildlife Center, where we explored the grounds and helped out by raking pine needles. Along the way, we got to see the animals being fostered there, learning about their stories and the center’s efforts to rehabilitate them. To wrap up the day, we gathered as a group by the river, taking in the peaceful view and reflecting on our time together.

Today, we raked pine needles and cleared pathways for workers who secure a safe environment for the animals who locate at the nature center. I enjoyed working for the cause with my friends because I did good work while connecting with people through the tedious process.

Also, we learned about different animals native to the area when touring with our guide Frank. We were able to see animals such as various birds of prey, raccoons, and even a fox. Finally, we were able to enjoy nature when walking around the place and enjoying the various pieces of scenery around the refuge.
