The Baseball team finished up their stay in Myrtle Beach with a tie today, with a final score of 5-5 after 7 innings against Albany Academy from New York. It was an exciting game right up to the end, with both teams advancing a runner into scoring position with no outs in the final frame. Mitchell Mullock got the start, and continued to pound the strike zone while controlling the pace of the game. Matt Mullock came on in relief, and in the bottom of the 7th inning expertly worked out of a jam to preserve the tie. The game concludes a trip that has been extremely valuable in getting our team ready for the regular season. While we would have liked the win today, the attitude after the game was certainly a positive one.
Overall the trip has been a great experience. We got in some priceless outdoor practice time this early in the season, played 4 games (without losing any), and got a chance to do some meaningful work in the local community food bank. Tomorrow we set out for Moorestown bright and early, with Mac, the bus driver of our trip for the last two years, taking charge behind the wheel.
