WE GOT DOGS!

Today was a day filled with dogs! It started off with pancakes and bacon with strawberries for breakfast. After we ate our breakfast feast we learned all about the differences between wolves and dogs from Barb for about an hour. Barely surviving that, we went on the bus to Allen’s Kennels where we got to see a dog obedience class. The dog trainer taught us all about training dogs and demonstrated all of the things that her dogs (Lady and Christie, the Irish Setters pictured above) could do. The dogs were more well-behaved than most of the Upper School, and pretty much all of the Middle Schoolers.

From the kennels we came back to school to eat a quick snack and set up the room for the dog breeder, Lini Federici (MFS Alum and daughter of Mrs. Fed). She breeds Norfolk Terriers, and taught us all about what it was like being a dog breeder. We learned about all of the different activities that her dogs could do (including KILLING GROUNDHOGS, WHICH ARE BIGGER THAN THEY ARE). The dogs themselves also sort of looked like groundhogs, which was adorably ironic. Her dog’s names were Lark, Thor, and Foxy.
